3 Triad Pairs Over a Major 7th Chord (PDF)

PDF + Diagrams

$1.99

Three triad pairs you can play over a major 7th chord, with every note named as an extension. This is a 7 page PDF built around Fmaj7. Each pair comes with the fretboard shapes I play, shown twice: once with note names and once with what each note is against the chord (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, #11, 13, b13). So you can see why it sounds the way it does, not just where the notes are. What's inside: -

F major + G major (Lydian). The G triad is 9, #11 and 13, all extensions.

F major + Db augmented (harmonic major color). Only one note changes, C to Db, which is the 5 moving to b13.

G major + A major (Lydian augmented). Six notes that sit on the 9, #11, 13, 3, #5 and 7.

A table of every note in Fmaj7 measured from the root, and which ones are chord tones and which are extensions.

The string and fret order for each line, in groups of three notes.

A short practice page. The same ideas work on any major 7th chord. Move the root and the pairs move with it.

Good for guitar players who already know their triads and want to hear them as something more than a chord. Digital download, PDF.
